The Royals for the last couple of years have been trying to get over the hump, but never seem to do so and one reason is they simply struggle on the road. This year they are 8-13 on the road, bringing their five+ year total to 154-273 on the road or just 36% of the time finding the win column. The pitchers here are headed in opposite directions as Brian Bannister is carrying a 6.88 ERA in his last three starts, while Jeff Niemann has posted a 2.65 ERA in his last three which has seen his ERA more than double. The Royals are now 1-8 in their last nine on the road and Bannister, pitching poorly right now, is just 1-6 in his last seven starts vs the tough American League East. The Rays are an amazing 54-19 in their last 73 home games vs a righthanded starter, and I will go with them here.
