The Kansas City Royals have recovered from their opening game loss to take a 2-1 lead in World Series. The Royals have had the hot-hand near the end of the regular season, and have been lethal in the playoffs. This is a young team that is growing in confidence. The crusher for this team is their lethal bullpen, which allows for a starter to just get through five innings, and the rest has been in the hands of a bullpen that has been unyielding in the playoffs. The top five hurlers out of the Royals' pen have worked 39.1 innings and allowed just 3 runs, for a combined playoffs ERA of 0.69. That equates to havnig five Mariano Riveras coming out of the pen to cover not only the ninth inning, but from inning five on. They are also 5-0 with seven saves, and none blown.
