The San Diego Padres offense is going to kill them this season. Through 34 games, they are the only team that has not produced more than 6 runs in a game all season. It is unlikely that they will get anything going against James Shields who has a 3.11 ERA to start the season. The only team to get to him this season has been the hard-hitting Tigers, as Shield's other five starts shows he allowed 2 runs or fewer in all of them. Andrew Cashner has pitched admirably well for the Padres, but owns just two wins to four losses despite a 2.72 ERA on the season - a true product of no offensive support. The Royals are 8-1 in Shield's last nine road starts vs. a team with a losing record. Cashner has not been a stopper with the Padres, losing six of their last seven when he gets the ball following a loss. Take the Royals.
