Kansas City at Oakland

Kansas City has recovered from a rough patch to win three in a row while scoring a total of 25 runs, including Monday's 6-2 win over the Athletics. Jason Hammel has not allowed more than three runs his last seven starts and Oakland has lost six of its last eight home games while the Royals have won six of the last eight meetings at Oakland. Chris Smith has made five starts and has a 5.29 ERA to show for it and he gave up five runs on seven hits in six innings in a 7-2 loss to Baltimore on Thursday. Smith has allowed 16 runs on 25 hits his last 21 innings pitched. Kansas City is still just one game out of a Wild Card spot while the Athletics languish in last place in the AL West. Look for Kansas City to win its fourth in a row and play the Royals.
