Kansas City is looking for home field in the postseason, but Minnesota also has plenty to play for. The Twins reside two games behind Houston in the race for the AL's second Wild Card spot. The Royals are 2-9 on the road against a team with a winning record. The Royals go with Yordano Ventura (4.20 ERA), who has a 4.58 ERA on the road. He has a 6.75 ERA against Minnesota, who just beat him last month, allowing four runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings. This Twins' attack is strong, #10 in baseball in runs scored. Joe Mauer collected two hits to improve to 9-for-28 in his last seven contests and Minnesota rookie LF Eddie Rosario has at least one hit and a run scored in each of his last five contests. Minnesota is on a 5-2 run, and a perfect 8-0 after scoring two runs or less in their previous game. Twins lefty Tommy Milone (9-5) has had a fine campaign, with the team 6-3 his last nine starts. He is also 6-2 at home for the season. Milone beat the Royals last month, allowing just two runs in seven strong innings to improve to 2-0 versus Kansas City this season. He went 3-1 in September after permitting two runs on four hits in 5 2/3 frames of a 4-2 triumph at Cleveland on Monday. The Twins are also 9-4 at home against a team with a winning road record, so jump on the motivated home dog and play on Minnesota.
