Both these teams are much improved over a year ago, and as we approach the break, both are within striking distance of the coveted .500 mark. The Royals acquired James Shields to be a top of the rotation pitcher, and while he has produced a 2.92 ERA on the season, it has resulted in just two wins, as the Royals offense has been inconsistent, as well as the bullpen. The middle of the Twins lineup has had great success against Shields, with Justin Morneau with a career .345 mark against him, and Joe Mauer at .393. That has his ERA against the Twins at a pedestrian 4.08. The Royals are just 8-17 in their last 25 as a road favorite from -110 to -150, and just 2-6 in their last eight played here. Play on Minnesota.
