The Los Angeles Angels watched Jered Weaver pick-up where he left off a year ago, as he shutout the Royals 5-0 in the opener. Albert Pujols made his Angels debut forgetful, going 0-3 with a strikeout. The Royals have a good hitting team, and are young and growing and finished last season an encouraging 15-10 in September. Luke Hochevar may have finally arrived, as he worked a career-high 31 starts a year ago, logging 198 innings, and became a better pitcher. He pitched great in the spring, recording 21 Ks in 19 innings, while pitching to a 2.84 ERA. The Royals’ lineup is well suited for right-handed pitching, as they closed a year ago at 9-4 against them. The Angels were 1-4 down the stretch last year behind Haren as a favorite from -151 to -200. Play on Kansas City.
