Kansas City and Cleveland are both in that pack. It comes down to pitching, and tonight the Royals have a huge edge. Kansas City counters with their ace in James Shields who is 1-2, but carries a 2.00 ERA into this battle. Shields has allowed just a single earned run in each of his last three starts. Kansas City is 20-8 in their last 28 games vs. a starter with a WHIP of greater than 1.30, while the Tribe are leaking oil vs. a starter with a WHIP of under 1.15, as they are just 1-7 in their last eight against them.
