This is a team that has quit, and is just 3-10 over their last 13 games. They have also allowed 22 runs in their last two, and 95 in their last 13, or 7.3 runs a game. More importantly they have allowed 4 runs or more in all of them, while they are scoring 3 or less in more than half of them - a sure recipe for disaster. The Royals aren't just playing out the string, they are playing hard and it shows in their 11-2 run to close down the stretch. The Royals have taken eight of their last nine vs. teams with a losing record as they bear down. The others, including Chicago, have raised the white flag for the season.
