Kansas City at Chicago

The Chicago White Sox appeared to be destined for being a seller as the trade deadline approaches, but they closed the first half of the season with nine wins in their last 12 games, and entered the second half just 5.5 games out in the wildcard race. They split a doubleheader yesterday vs. Kansas City. They certainly have the advantage on the hill today as Quintana has out-pitched Guthrie by almost 2 runs a game on the season. Kansas City has not been able to get the offense going in Chicago, as through five games played here this season they have managed a total of 12 runs, and Guthrie leaves them vulnerable here. The Royals are just 1-6 in their last seven on the road vs. a winning home team. The Sox have dealt a perfecto, at 9-0 facing a team that allowed 2 runs or less in their last game. Chicago in this one.
