Kansas City somehow gave up nine runs in the eighth inning against the lowly Orioles and lost 9-8 on Wednesday, but the Royals have their best pitcher on the mound tonight in Carlos Hernandez, who has given up only seven earned runs his last four starts in 24 2/3 innings and Kansas City won all of them. Hernandez is 5-1 with a 3.57 ERA and has faced Baltimore once and allowed two runs on three hits in four innings. John Means threw a no-hitter earlier this season, but has been mediocre since and the Orioles have lost his past six starts. Also, Means has a 5.01 ERA at home compared to 2.48 on the road. The Royals have won nine of their past 13 road games and they are 15-7 overall their past 22 versus left-handed starters. The Orioles have lost 48 of their last 70 home games. Take the Royals.
