Houston at St. Louis

Andy Pettitte brought home the win for the Stros yesterday in this series and now the rubber game goes this afternoon. The Astros send to the mound a guy with a losing record and a 5.57 ERA. And, he's never faced the Cards before. He could be in for a rude awakening as the Stros bats come alive after losses. Oh yeah, Bucholz is 1-2 with an 8.86 ERA in road starts this season. In contrast, the Cards put Jeff Suppan on the mound as he goes for his 100th victory. While he's struggled on the road, at home this year he's 3-1 with a 2.93 ERA. The Cards have a HUGE bullpen advantage as well as their pen has a 3.24 ERA overall and 2.50 at home while Houston's is 4.83 and 4.37 respectively. Road underdogs of +125 to +175 starting pitcher whose ERA is 5.70 or worse on the season are just 22-63 (26%) in May games over the past five seasons. Cardinals here.
