Houston at St. Louis

The Cardinals took a blow before they stepped on the field to begin the 2011 season when Adam Wainwright underwent surgery and was lost for the season. It has left the Cards short on pitching, and lately they have played poorly. In the last quarter of the season, covering 40 games St. Louis is just 17-23 and on their way to playing themselves out of the NL Central. Jaime Garcia has been very average over his last 11 starts with the Cards, posting just a 6-5 mark. It has been a distasteful season for Houston, but the lone bright spot is Wandy Rodriguez. The Astros don't win much, except when W-Rod toes the rubber where they become a winning team at 8-7 in his last 15 starts. That distorts the huge number put out by the oddsmakers here, so the value lies with Houston in this one. Take the Astros.
