Houston at Seattle

It took awhile, but Seattle has gotten on a roll winning four in a row to climb within a game of the .500 mark and just a game behind Houston in the AL West. The Mariners swept Oakland while allowing only six runs in the three-game series and the Astros have lost four of six and they scored a total of only four runs in the four losses. Luis Castillo goes tonight for Seattle and he is 2-0 with a 1.82 ERA and 0.92 WHIP while giving up just seven earned runs in his five starts in 28 2/3 innings, including just three runs in 23 2/3 innings at home. The Mariners' bullpen has been stellar with 11 saves and a 1.25 WHIP and allowing only six homers, which is the second-fewest in the majors. Cristian Javier faced the Mariners twice in 2022 and gave up five runs on eight hits in nine innings. Houston has lost six of eight against teams with losing records.
