Oddsmakers are a little bullish on the Mariners who are pitching dependent. They are at the bottom of the rotation with Joe Saunders who was lit up in his 2013 debut. Saunders owns a 4.85 career ERA vs. Houston. Saunders was 33-14 in back to back seasons but has since fallen dramatically, logging a 30-44 career mark since. Phil Humber, a prize prospect in the Mets system, has a high ceiling, pitched well in his 2013 opener and should be feeling confident against a weak M's attack. Seattle has not fared well coming back to Safeco after a seven day or longer road trip, where they are just 5-16 in their last 21. In addition, with a young team, they have struggled to bounce back from a loss at 4-10 in their last 14. Play on Houston.
