Houston at Oakland

Luis Medina has been somewhat inconsistent this year, but he threw five scoreless innings on only three hits in 5 2/3 innings as Oakland defeated Boston 3-0 on Tuesday. Medina will look to do it again today against the Astros, who lost 4-1 to the Athletics on Saturday while being held to six hits. Zack Gelof broke up Cristian Javier's no-hitter in the sixth and then added a home run to give Oakland the victory. Hunter Brown goes for Houston, which has lost four of his past five starts and he has allowed 19 runs on 34 hits in that span in 24 innings pitched. July has not been good to Brown as he owns a 8.76 ERA this month with a .400 opponent batting average. Oakland is getting huge value again with Medina on the mound just as it did his last outing.
