Houston at New York

It's been a season to forget for the New York Mets. Injuries have riddled them all season and it's not getting any better even at the end. Carlos Beltran and David Wright may not be available today. But no matter, I like the Mets a lot in this spot at home. They face Wilton Lopez who has been horrible in seven games of action, posting a 9.42 ERA. Backing him up is a bullpen that owns a 5.08 road ERA with a horrendous 52% save percentage. Nelson Figuerora goes for the Mets and he's been pedestrian. But, he faces a Houston lineup that can't hit. The Astros have averaged just 3.9 runs per game this year and just one run in each of the first two games in this series. Since the All-Star break, Houston is 10-23 this season vs. losing teams including 0-8 in their last eight vs. teams at .460 for worse. They are also just 13-32 on the road since the All Star break. I look for the Mets to close the season out with a win.
