Houston at New York

Houston has won six of its last eight and seven of the games were against first-place teams, including Tuesday's 9-1 victory over the Mets. Kyle Tucker hit a three-run homer for the Astros, who now lead the AL West by 10 games. New York has lost four of its past six overall and all three meetings versus Houston this season. Justin Verlander is the starter for Houston today and he is 9-3 with a 2.22 ERA and 0.87 WHIP and the Astros have won 10 of his 14 starts this year. Verlander comes off a 3-1 win over the Yankees on Friday when he allowed one run on four hits in seven innings. The Mets counter with Taijuan Walker, who has not had much success against Houston batters, who are hitting a whopping .525 against him in 56 at-bats.
