Houston won its second in a row and fifth in eight games with a 6-0 victory over the Guardians on Thursday. Chas McCormick and Martin Maldonado each homered and had three RBIs for the Astros, who have allowed a total of only eight runs in their last five games. The Astros have won 19 of the last 26 meetings, including six straight at Cleveland, and they are 39-17 after giving up two or fewer runs in their previous game. Framber Valdez is 9-4 with a 2.80 ERA and 1.13 WHIP this season, and he has allowed more than three runs in a game just once since April 19. Also, Valdez has been even better on the road where he is 6-2 with a 2.04 ERA and .176 opponent batting average.
