The Boston Red Sox made a choice prior to the deadline that the team, largely in tact after winning it all a year ago, was no longer viable to contend in the AL. They unloaded most of their starting pitching and a few position players, and are getting a long look at some young players - basically cashing in their chips for the season. Houston is a vastly improved team from the last three years that saw each of them end in 106 losses or more. Scott Feldman had a rough stretch, but he has pitched very well as his last four starts have all been quality starts. Allen Webster has yet to prove that he belongs in the big leagues. He has made six career appearances at Fenway, five of which have been starts, resulting in a disastrous 8.10 ERA. Houston has been at their best to high totals, compiling a 9-2 mark in their last 11 to a total of 9 to 10.5. Boston comes limping in with a 1-10 mark in their last 11 to the same total range. Go with Houston.
