Last night the Red Sox sent Jon Lester to the mound in what looked like an automatic win, as Lester had been pitching great. He wasn't so great as the A's scored 5 runs, and a bad call on a Jeb Lowrie at bat in the ninth that clearly hit chalk was called foul, or the 6-5 defeat may have been a different outcome. Once again the Red Sox look like an easy winner with Clay Buchholz on the mound. But, his numbers vs. the AL West are pretty bad, as he sports a 9-9 career record with a 4.90 ERA. Houston will go with Phil Humber, who has acquitted himself quite well at Fenway Park where he is 2-0 for his career. Boston is just 1-5 in Buchholz' last six starts after they allowed 5+ runs in their last contest. The line here is simply over-inflated at this stage of the season, so play on Houston.
