Atlanta has won nine of 10 to move within 3.5 games of the first-place Mets in the NL East after winning 3-2 on Thursday when Max Fried barely out pitched Jacob deGrom in a battle of aces. The Braves are making a late run as they did last year that resulted in a World Series championship, and Kyle Wright will get the start tonight with a 14-5 record and a 3.14 ERA. Atlanta has won 11 of his past 13 starts, including his last one on August 10 when he allowed one run on six hits in six innings versus Boston. Houston had scored a total of eight runs in its three previous games before exploding for 21 runs against the White Sox on Thursday, but they should have saved some of those runs for this series. The Braves have won seven of their last eight interleague games, and they are 16-5 overall in the first game of a series. The Braves have also won 50 of their past 70 games overall. Take the Braves.
