The Tigers kept their hopes alive with a Game 5 win in Detroit behind Justin Verlander. The Tigers hand the ball to Max Scherzer who won 15 games this season, but with a 4.43 ERA he certainly didn't earn a lot of them, and has already been victimized by the Rangers in this series. The Rangers counter with Derek Holland who was 16-5 on the season with a 3.95 ERA. The Rangers are 10-1 in their last 11 at home where they have been tough all season, and have three things going for them in this one. They have a slight pitching edge, the home field, and the hottest hitter in the series in Nelson Cruz, who has carried the Rangers’ offense. The Tigers have been awful in this spot as they are 8-20 in their last 28 as a dog of +110 to +150, while the Rangers scoring the cash as a favorite in the same range from -110 to -150 to a 24-6 mark including 5-0 behind Holland. Texas closes this one out in Game 6.
