All the talk about Kenny Rogers now shifts to Chris Carpenter. Rogers has been unbelievable in the playoffs. His bullpen tried to give game two away but thankfully for us they didn't succeed. Carpenter hasn't been that good in the playoffs but he's been much better all season long. He's 17-9 on the year with a 3.15 ERA. At home, forget about it. He's posted a 1.85 ERA here, going into the eigth inning on average. Nate Robertson throws for Detroit and he's been pretty bad of late (7.63 ERA over his last three starts). The Tigers seem to be on a mission this postseason, and they are 4-1 vs. St. Louis this year, but can they overcome this big a pitching discrepancy? I don't think so. With Carpenter on the mound, the Cards are 37-18 in night games over the past three seasons. And, with him starting on 5+ days of rest, they are 17-2 over the past two seasons. This guy is the reigning Cy Young Award winner and we gotta back him tonight.
