There might be a tendency to see an AL total set under 7, and immediately think over. Looking closer at the pitching matchup has me thinking just the opposite. Doug Fister has emerged as a force for the Mariners, pitching to a 1.96 ERA on the season, and an even better 1.66 at home. Justin Verlander got off to a slow start, but he has been dealing over his last five starts, allowing a total of 5 runs. That works out to just 1 per game. Looking at a pair of exceptionally hot pitchers allowing 2.5 runs combined over a sizeable period, makes the UNDER the valued side in this one.
