Detroit at Seattle

The Detroit Tigers were supposed to cruise through the AL Central untested, but that certainly has not been the case as we approach mid-May. The Tigers are just a single game over .500 and have had problems closing games, hitting consistently, as they have produced 15 game, over 50% of all their games, scoring 3 runs or less. Jason Vargas, with his 3.09 ERA, will not make it any easier tonight. Drew Smyly has come up big in the Tiger rotation, but the Bengals stand at 0-6 after a win and have also dropped four straight to lefthand pitching. It has been showtime recently for the M's with Vargas on the hill after they allowed 5+ runs in their last game, now 5-1 in their last six.
