Detroit at Philadelphia

Detroit keeps finding ways to lose and yesterday it was a walk-off grand slam homer by Jake Burger that gave the White Sox a 6-2 victory over the lowly Tigers, who have lost three straight and five of six. The Tigers scored a total of three runs while getting swept in the three-game series against Chicago. Philadelphia is trying to climb back into contention with two wins in a row over Washington, including 11-3 yesterday when Kyle Schwarber hit two three-run homers and Drew Ellis added two home runs and scored four times. Aaron Nola has pitched better at home where he is 2-1 with a 3.86 ERA and the four Tiger hitters who have faced him are 6-for-29 against him. Detroit starter Joey Wentz is 1-5 with a ghastly 7.28 ERA and 1.68 WHIP although he did manage to get through 4 1/3 innings on one run his last appearance.
