Detroit at Oakland

The Detroit Tigers have staked claim to the AL Central, and this club is now 24 games over .500 for the season. It is actually all in the hands and arm of Justin Verlander who is at 23-5. If you subtract that out of the Tigers’ season, they are barely a .500 team at just six games over. That doesn't even match the A's home record of seven games over .500, so all things considered, we get the better team here at home at plus odds. The A's have done well of late vs. a winning road team, taking four of their last five. The A's have also duplicated that feat in their last five against the Tigers where they are an identical 4-1. I like the prospects of a home dog on the level of the opposition when Verlander is in the dugout and not on the mound. Play on Oakland in this one.
