Detroit at Oakland

O.co in Oakland is a huge park, great for pitchers, and a pair of good ones are on the hill tonight. Athletics righty Jesse Chavez (1-4, 2.89) has thrown well but can't get any runs from the offense. The A's are on a 4-1-1 run UNDER the total and 3-0-1 UNDER when Chavez starts. Oakland starters own a 2.58 ERA over their last 14 games. The Tigers managed four singles and a walk against Jesse Hahn in a 4-0 loss to the Athletics in the series opener. The Athletics struggle against southpaws (5-22 against a left-handed starter) and face one of the best in David Price (3-1, 3.32 ERA). Price struck out 12 over his 6.2 innings Thursday against Houston and the UNDER is 4-1 in the Tigers' last five road games. The UNDER is also 16-5 when umpire Jeff Kelloggs is behind the plate at Oakland, so all signs point toward a defensive duel. Take the UNDER.
