Detroit at New York

Detroit finally broke through and broke its nine-game losing streak with a 9-8 win over the Mets as JaCoby Jones homered and drove in four runs and the Tigers banged out 14 hits. It snapped New York's four-game winning streak and the Mets lost despite hitting five home runs. Jason Vargas has a 5.92 ERA and opposing hitters are batting .271 against him and he's been fortunate to make it through the fourth inning. The Mets have lost four of their last five versus left-handed starters and they had lost five straight overall prior to their winning streak which came entirely against the lowly Nationals. The Tigers are getting a good price in this matchup and the Mets still have a weak lineup.  Play the Tigers.
