Detroit at Minnesota

Detroit and Minnesota play a split doubleheader after Wednesday's postponement and Anibal Sanchez and Pat Dean go in the Game 1. Sanchez had a rough outing against the Twins on Sept. 14, but overall the right-hander is 5-4 with a 3.08 ERA in 16 games against Minnesota in his career. In one appearance at Target Field this season, Sanchez allowed three runs in seven innings. The Twins have lost 15 of their last 20 home games and 25 of their last 31 overall. The Tigers have won nine straight in Minnesota and 13 of the last 17 meetings overall. Dean is 1-6 with a 6.71 ERA and has not been involved in a Twins' win either as a starter or reliever since June 12. Dean has a 6.23 ERA at home where he has walked 15 batters in 30 1/3 innings.  Play the Tigers with Sanchez.
