The Minnesota Twins may be 15 games below .500, but this team lost 99 games a year ago, and isn't as far away as many would think. They have rallied back from a gruesomely bad start to play .500 baseball over a long stretch of 52 games. The Tigers got a taste of the revived Twins last night in a 9-3 ambush. The Tigers were hopeful that Doug Fister would supply more answers in the starting rotation, but he has disappointed with the Tigers going just 7-10 in his 17 starts on the season. That mark worsens to 2-7 when he takes the ball on the road. That has left the Tigers at just 1-5 when he starts on the road as a favorite, and Detroit has had all sorts of problems of late against lefthanders where they are 2-10 in their last 12. The Twins have been an opportunistic 4-0 at home in their last four vs. a team with a losing road mark. Play on Minnesota.
