Minnesota has vastly upgraded the offense from last season, ranked fourth in runs scored and tops in on base percentage. Josmil Pinto hit his fifth homer of the season, and the Twins scored two runs in the fifth in their 5-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Saturday. They have a winning record at home, while the Tigers have a losing road mark. The Twins are 6-2 as a home underdog and 5-1 against a right-handed starter. They face righty Justin Verlander, who has only one other road start, giving up more hits than innings pitched at light hitting San Diego. Verlander has been a great go-against for a while, and the Tigers are 2-7 in Verlander's last nine starts vs. a team with a winning record. Minnesota's Kyle Gibson (3-1, 3.63 ERA) is terrific, and the Twins are 4-1 in Gibson's last five starts as an underdog. He's allowed one run in 14+ home innings, so grab the home dog. Play the Minnesota Twins.
