I don't expect to see a lot of the big bats in the lineup today for Detroit, as this game has little value to them. Miami has faced an offensive weakness all season and have used this season to start to build some experience for some young and talented players, but they have a long way to go offensively. Henderson Alvarez has pitched well over his last three starts where he has allowed a total of four runs in 19 innings of work, and Verlander is off a start where he worked six scoreless innings. The Tigers enter this one sporting a perfect 8-0 mark in their last eight on the road to a total of 7-8.5. Miami enters at 7-0-2 to the UNDER in their last nine posted as an interleague dog. Play is on the UNDER.
