Flaherty went 13-7 with the Tigers and Dodgers in the 2024 season that ended with a World Series ring. He had a 2.95 ERA with Detroit with 133 strikeouts in 106.2 innings. Yoshinobu Yamamoto hasn't pitched in a regular-season game since March 18, when Los Angeles beat the Cubs 4-1 in Tokyo. The Tigers have improved pitching and defense from last season's playoff team.
