Edwin Jackson of the Tigers has impressed early. But when you consider his MLB track record isn't so great, and who he beat, the numbers are not what they appear to be. Jackson shutout Seattle in 7.2 innings of work, but that is nothing new. He has a career ERA of 0.40 against the Mariners. He also beat a soft-hitting Blue Jays team, but when he faced a good offensive team in the Rangers, he struggled as usual, allowing four runs in six innings. His career against the Angels, they have seen him allow 39 hits in just 22 innings of work. The Angels start a rookie, but regardless of the numbers, Jackson has "rookie like" numbers against the Angels who have been a dominant home team. There is lots of juice on the line here that favors the Angels, and I will go with them.
