The feisty Royals put their bats on Justin Veralnder, knocking him out on 120 pitches in just 5.2 innings of work. The 12 hits they pounded out were the most against Verlander since August of 2006. The 8 runs against him match his career worst. The Royals were confident going into that one, and even more so now, as this team continues to play well. The Royals are now 16-11 in their last 27 games overall. The Tigers are just 9-9 in their last 18 games, and have not played very well heading down the stretch. Anibel Sanchez was supposed to bolster the rotation, but his first five starts in a Tigers uniform he is carrying an ERA of 6.33. Chen has been the best option at home for Kansas City where they have won seven of his last eight starts. This is a great spot for a live dog here at home, so play on Kansas City.
