Justin Verlander has had a great career, but he has been showing signs of slowing down. Verlander no longer gets the ball up to 100 MPH as he did a few years ago, and his margin for error has begun to expand. Verlander enters with a 4.96 ERA on the season, the highest in his long career. He walked 57 in 228 innings a year ago, and already 47 this year in under 100 innings. The Tigers power lineup is in decline as well, and this team is nine games under .500. The Indians have been good for just a couple of years, but Verlander owns a 23-28 career record vs. the Tribe.
