Not many saw this Chicago White Sox team coming so far, so fast. They dropped 99 games a year ago, but have played through 65 games looking for a win to get to .500 on the season. Detroit looked like they were going to run away from the pack in the AL, but they have struggled for a long time, and are just 6-15 in their last 21 games. Compounding the issue is slugger Miguel Cabrera is now dealing with a bad hamstring. Justin Verlander commands some extra weight in the odds here, but he is not the same pitcher that has allowed for that in the past at just 6-5 with a 4.32 ERA. He has become quite pedestrian, as his velocity that once reached 100 has dropped. John Danks is pitching superbly, allowing 3 runs in 22.1 innings in his last three starts. The Tigers are just 4-11 in Verlander's last 15 starts vs. a losing team. Make the play on Chicago.
