The Tigers have gotten what they had hoped for with Justin Verlander who was lights out in '07, but really struggled last year and started poorly this year. He has been pitching very well of late. The problem is he has never in his career had success vs the White Sox, who have really owned him. Verlander owns a career 2-9 mark vs the White Sox and even when he was lights out in '07, finishing at 18-6, he lost two out of three to the White Sox. He has been good lately, but his season stats show him at 0.82 ERA at home and 5.08 ERA on the road. The White Sox go with John Danks who has had some struggles of his own, but not so much at home where he has allowed two runs or less in three of his four starts. Tigers just 9-19 in Verlander's last 28 starts vs American League Central, which includes the big goose-egg against the White Sox, as they are 0-8 in his last eight starts in Chi-town. White Sox are 14-6 in their last 20, posted as a home dog. I like the White Sox as a live dog here.
