Detroit at Chicago

Every time Detroit gets close to .500 it stops hitting again and the Tigers have dropped four of five and have scored only one run the first two games of this series after a 2-1 defeat at Chicago on Saturday. All three runs in the game were scored on wild pitches, including one that knocked out the home plate umpire and that is typical of the kind of seasons these teams are having. Michael Kopech gets the start for the White Sox and he did not give up a run in 15 innings in two previous outings before allowing four runs in 4 1/3 innings against the Angels on Monday. The Tigers have only three hits in 29 at-bats versus Kopech. Matthew Boyd's ERA is up to 5.96 after he allowed five runs in six innings against Texas.
