When the Orioles signed Jeremy Guthrie four years ago, they thought they were getting a top-of-the-rotation pitcher. He has never lived up to the billing. This season the Orioles are just 12-19 in games he has taken the hill. What is worse is that three of the wins were by a single run, leaving the Orioles 9-22 if facing a -1.5 runline in his 31 starts. Jeremy Bonderman has had an "Oreo" cookie type season. His middle 15 starts were awful, and the Tigers were 6-9 in the 15 games. The beginning and finish show 14 starts and an 11-3 mark with the Tigers winning five of his last six starts. The Tigers have been getting it done in expected low-scoring games as they are 12-4 in their last 16 with a posted total from 7-8.5. Behind Bonderman, they stand at 4-0 in that same situation. Guthrie further proves that he is not a top-of-the-rotation pitcher as the O's are 8-20 when he starts after a loss. The Tigers are 9-3 in the last 12 vs. the O's, so I'll take Detroit here on the runline.
