One of the reasons why the Nationals’ season has been above expectations is the pitching of Gio Gonzalez. Gonzales has led them to a 13-3 mark in his 16 starts on the season, behind an ERA that stands at 3.01 for the season, and they are unbeaten at 4-0 when he faces a losing team. Jeff Francis was 44-32 in a three-year stretch from 2005-07, but he simply has not been the same pitcher since as he has gone just 16-33 since 2008, with an ERA of over 5. The Rockies do not present much of a challenge as a dog where they are 34-75 in their last 109. Play on Washington.
