Colorado at Texas

Texas finished third in the AL West in 2019, which was better than expected, and the Rangers are poised to improve even more this season as they arguably have the best starting five pitchers in the league. Lance Lynn gets the call on Friday, and he comes off a 16-11 season with a 3.67 ERA and 246 strikeouts. Colorado finished only 71-91 last year and doesn't figure to get much better this season. Rockies starter German Marquez did have a 12-5 record, but with a 4.76 ERA, and he went on the injury list in August with inflammation in his throwing arm. The right-hander got off to a good start in 2019, but his ERA was above 5.00 in each of his last three months of work. This matchup favors Texas and the Rangers are home. Make the play on the Rangers.
