Colorado at San Francisco

San Francisco is in a tight race for a Wild Card spot and stayed a game ahead of St. Louis with its 12-3 win over the Rockies on Tuesday. Colorado has lost five games in a row, including being swept in a four-game series against the Dodgers. Jeff Samardzija pitched seven shutout innings at San Diego in a 2-1 Giants win on Thursday while allowing four hits and striking out nine batters. Samardzija has given up more than three runs just once his last nine starts. The right-hander also has a 2.38 ERA against the Rockies in 22 2/3 innings pitched this season. Tyler Chatwood has been inconsistent as he gave up two runs in six innings in a 7-4 loss to the Dodgers after surrendering seven runs and eight hits in five innings against San Diego. Chatwood's September ERA is 5.96 and Colorado has lost five of his last seven starts. The Rockies have lost 19 of their last 26 road games. Take the Giants in this one.
