The Rockies are 16-36 in their last 52 games vs. a left-handed starter and face 25-year-old southpaw Andrew Werner of San Diego, who has a 2-1 record and a 2.59 ERA. Colorado has never seen him before and the kid has fanned 23 in 24 innings with only eight walks allowed. Werner picked up his second win of the season during Sunday's contest against the Diamondbacks. Making his fourth start of the year he allowed just one run on four hits over six innings in the 8-2 victory. The Rockies are on a 2-8 run while the Padres are 19-9 in their last 28 vs. a team with a losing record. Colorado's pitching has been disastrous all season and they are stuck with Alex White (2-8, 5.18 ERA) this game, walking 43 in 88+ innings, a terrible ratio. He is 0-2 against the Padres this season with a 4.50 ERA walking five in ten innings. San Diego is playing terrific baseball, on an 18-6 run and the Padres are 22-7 in their last 29 home games. Play the Padres.
