Colorado is off a nice win as a dog yesterday, and is a team with more wins on the road than the Padres have at home. They also have a far better offense at No. 8 in runs scored, No. 7 in on-base percentage. San Diego didn’t draw a single walk yesterday while getting shut out. This is one of the worst teams in the league with a lousy home record and a popgun offense ranked No. 28 in runs, batting average, on-base percentage and slugging. Colorado is again a dog with Aaron Cook on the mound, who doesn’t walk anyone (31 in 85 innings) and has a 14-5 record and a 2.93 ERA against San Diego. The Rockies are 8-2 in their last 10 vs. a team with a losing record. Matt Latos is favored but not the same as he was a year ago, likely because of too many innings. The team is 3-7 his last 10 starts and he has a 4.00 ERA his last three starts averaging just 6 innings. In those three starts he’s walked 10 batters in 18 innings. He is 1-2 against Colorado with a 4.71 ERA. The Padres are 5-23 in their last 28 vs. the National League West and 5-12 in Latos' last 17 starts as a favorite. Play the Rockies.
