Bettors beware: the last place Padres are a favorite! This is one of the worst teams in the league with a lousy home record and a popgun offense ranked No. 28 in runs, batting average, on base percentage and slugging – bad across the board. Cory Luebke has a 3.53 ERA at home, high for this park, and fell to 5-7 with a loss against the Diamondbacks Sunday, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings. The Padres are 1-4 in Luebke’s last five starts vs. the National League West, 5-22 in their last 27 vs. National League West and 0-8 in their last eight overall. Colorado comes to town with more wins on the road than the Padres have at home. They also have a far better offense, No. 8 in runs, No. 7 in OBP. Starter Alex White has three plus pitches (fastball, slider and splitter) and is a fly ball pitcher, so it will be a big plus throwing in this park. The Rockies are also 7-2 in their last nine against a team with a losing record. Play the Rockies.
