Colorado at San Diego

Colorado got a win in its opener and C.J. Cron was the star hitting a go-ahead three-run homer in the fifth and a leadoff shot in the seventh and the Rockies won 7-2. Kyle Freeland is scheduled to start tonight and he was a typical Colorado pitcher who pitched better on the road than at home last year. Freeland had a 3.08 ERA in road games and 6.00 at Coors Field. Freeland pitched 11 2/3 innings at Petco Park and and allowed four runs. Nick Martinez appeared in 47 games, but started just 10 for San Diego last year and in 16 1/3 innings pitched against the Rockies he gave up six earned runs on 22 hits. The Padre bullpen gave up four runs on Thursday. Look for Colorado to make it two straight and play the Rockies.
