Colorado at San Diego

Fernando Tatis Jr. had a stellar night both at bat and in the field as San Diego defeated the Rockies 9-3 on Thursday night. Tatis went 2-for-5, including a homer and made some dazzling plays defensively. Tonight San Diego goes up against Kyle Freeland, who is suffering through a miserable season with a 3-9 record and 7.24 ERA, including 1-5 and 4.91 on the road. Freeland has been pummeled for 21 runs (19 earned) on 31 hits in 22 2/3 innings since the All-Star break. Colorado continues its downward spiral, losing 17 of its last 22 road games and 24-of-32 overall. The Padres send Cal Quantrill to the mound and although he lost his last outing to the Dodgers, he still has given up only six earned runs his last 26 1/3 innings. Play the Padres.
